Chili on a Chilly Weekend....

This weekend I plan to cook a crockpot full of chili, wonderful comforting, hot/spicy chili...and if I get my oven cleaned, I'm even going to bake some cornbread to go with it, that is while between loads of laundry, a little scrubbing of tubs and floors, and I plan to also be curled up with my cats and watching Season 3 of Spiral (Entrenages)... My French is getting better the more I watch this tv show!!  I am starting to pick out at least 2 words per sentence that I know.... maybe this is the way to teach one's self how to speak French, immerse yourself into French tv and movies!!!!

I saw this picture and it reminded me of my mother:

And then I saw this picture and it reminded me of myself:

It's a Bright and Happy Day and Listening to....

Something that sounds like it came right out of my own highschool days...

I'm not a big fan of bubble gum pop music, which I always associated Taylor Swift in that category... teeny bopper music... but I love the upbeat music/singing/dancing of this song/video!!!!!

Then I noticed there's a real girly toughness and theme of self-respect and strength in a lot of these new songs... love this song, not so much the video - just the song!!!!!

Something to get my OCD going.... Geronimo, Geronimo....Geronimo....

Humanity....my little thanks to Lassana Bathily

I say "Cheers" to Lassana Bathily - I hope that his great act of kindness, bravery, and most of all humanity, opens many wonderful opportunities for his future!!!

Thank you for showing the world your courage and saving those poor people from the horrific threat of that gunwielding nutcase in the grocery store.  Thank you for suffering the indignity of being held in handcuffs and treated as a suspect until they realized you were there to help!!!  Thank you for not giving up on those people you hid!!!!  I hope you never lose your sense of humanity and goodness and that life brings you some much needed rewards for your actions!!!!!!

I think the public needs to hear more about Lassana Bathily and his bravery!!!!!  His actions of HUMANITY!!!!!  I want to see his face, not the faces of those monsters...

Happy First Monday of 2015!!!!!!

Doesn't really seem like Mr. Habibi is very amused, but this is actually his I wanna play and have fun stance!!!!  He's waiting for me to throw his little stuffed mouse at him, so he can bat it around and kill it... He's energized and ready for all the wonders and joys of 2015.  We spent the New Years lying around together watching a marathon of "THE ROYLE FAMILY" - British comedy show ... some episodes were "ehhhh" but then there were some that had me cackling and rolling around laughing like a looney.  We watched a Canadian crime show called "FORTIER" - kind of corny, but it caught my attention, I've now seen 3 seasons (it's all in French, with English subtitles - I was able to understand a few things without subtitles!), 2 seasons of "DER KOMMISSAR UND DER MEER (The Inspector and the Sea)" which I loved and wish I could afford to buy the other seasons that are not available online.  Wonderful crime show, German with English subtitles, the "who dunnit" part was excellent, the scenery is absolutely incredible, the acting is great, and I just hope someone will put the rest of the seasons online so I can finish watching it!!!  I saw Roald Dahl's Estios Trot with Judy Dench and Dustin Hoffman - absolutely fabulous!!!  I saw That Day We Danced with Imelda Staunton - absolutely heart warming and joyful!!!  The list goes on of all the new things I've watched... I am beginning to really dislike American tv - there's so few that can keep my attention, and yet, the Swedes, Danes, Germans, Canadians and British can make a show that I crave!!!!!

This weekend I had my hair colored - PURPLE... I've doctored the photo to give my hair a purple tint - but you really can only see it in the outdoor light... at my desk or inside, you would have no clue... I'm ready to do even more color - put some really really deep purple highlight/strands through here and there for some fun/funk... I can't go really punk because of my work, but with my dark hair and strands of color here and there - it will be very modest/sedate and hopefully not complained about.

Well, the Noomi girl is happy, healthy and larger than large... she really is the size of a medium dog.  Like the size of a Miniature Schnauzer or Poodle... not toy size, but the size of a Scottish terrier.  She's weighing in at a hefty 24 lbs!!!!!!  A friend showed me a picture of Noomi's mother - it's definitely Genetic!!!!  Her mother is quite Rubenesque!!!!  Well, honestly both her birth mother and adoptive mother!  HAHAHA!!!
